This tournament is always a great time, and will feature some new elements at the recently added course at Hughes Stadium.

A new course was installed recently in Wellington, located near the west entrance to the Rice Elementary School. The course is a result of the combined efforts of Bill Wright, Don Labor and the City of Wellington. The course is unusual in that the first half is located on the west side of I-25, and picks up again on the east side of the interstate. The word is that, eventually, the city plans to create a walkway under the interstate, which will allow the two halves to flow together. Generally, players have been parking at the first hole (a hole numbered "0", strangely..), playing the front, then driving across the interstate to finish their round. Directions to the first part of the course, then from there to the second half, can be found here.
The course has a good mix of long and short holes, and although it is relatively flat and open, the holes have made excellent use of the terrain and trees available. The terrain should be easy enough for most people to navigate and the course is suitable for players of all skill levels. Don't forget to bring some bug spray, as there are lots of mosquitos out there right now. One other tip, it appears that hole #17 has been pulled, or hasn't yet been installed due to ongoing landscaping work.

The new disc golf course at Hughes stadium is in the ground, and has so far been met with good reviews from local players. For those who are unfamiliar with the area, here are directions to the course from I-25. Having another 18 hole course in Fort Collins is long overdue and we applaud the City of Fort Collins, Colorado State University, and Bill Wright from the Wright Life for partnering to make this course a reality.
The city has also made it clear they intend to downgrade the Edora Park course from 18 holes to 9 holes, now that this new course is open. Due to overwhelming disapproval from local players, we are circulating a petition to encourage the city to preserve this historic course, an important asset of our city for 22 years. There is an online petition which we encourage you to sign, but knowing that physical signatures are most important, we encourage you to seek out the paper version we are circulating at events. If you are interested in circulating a copy of the petition, contact Luc at skywalker-noco@hotmail.com

As some may already know, we have a new disc golf course in Northern Colorado, located in the Oxbow Natural Area of Eastman Park, in Windsor, CO. This 12 hole course is a collaborative project between the Town of Windsor and the dedicated volunteers in the local disc golf scene, made possible by many generous donations from the surrounding communities.
The course is open for play, and baskets are in place, but many features are still in the works. Currently, the tee sign posts are installed and numbered, and soon the signs themselves will be finished. Plans are in the works for a welcome board to house the course map, announcements, etc.
Being in a natural area, it is very important that visitors respect the land and the natural features of the course. Tread lightly, and please avoid, as best you can, causing any damage to your surroundings. Intentional breakage of vegetation is not allowed, and should be actively discouraged if encountered.
We'd like to give a big "thank you" to all those who contributed in their own way to making this great new course a reality! A special thanks goes out to Shawn Aschliman, who was not only the original inspiration for the project, but the primary motivator and organizer of the effort. Thanks Shawn!
